When you are feeling down,
Let my words be wise,
The best I can devise.
Is the way I'm talking kind,
Or like an ax a'grind?
When you are feeling down,
Let me not lay blame.
Fault and sorrow are not the same.
Are my words good, positive and true,
Or would they make a happy person blue?
When you are feeling down,
Let me not tell you
What you already knew.
Sometimes good advice is wrong;
Adding to burdens will not make you strong.
When you are feeling down,
Let me bear your burdens as my own
Giving all my strength, a loan.
Let me focus on the light within,
To fan those sparks to flames again
When you are feeling down,
Let me have the insight to see
The next one who's down might be me.
Let my love rise beneath you, with no strings.
Let me be the wind beneath your wings.
Let my words be wise,
The best I can devise.
Is the way I'm talking kind,
Or like an ax a'grind?
When you are feeling down,
Let me not lay blame.
Fault and sorrow are not the same.
Are my words good, positive and true,
Or would they make a happy person blue?
When you are feeling down,
Let me not tell you
What you already knew.
Sometimes good advice is wrong;
Adding to burdens will not make you strong.
When you are feeling down,
Let me bear your burdens as my own
Giving all my strength, a loan.
Let me focus on the light within,
To fan those sparks to flames again
When you are feeling down,
Let me have the insight to see
The next one who's down might be me.
Let my love rise beneath you, with no strings.
Let me be the wind beneath your wings.
Was just checking to see if you had something new posted and found your poem.
ReplyDeleteIt gave me just exactly what I needed to know as regards encouragement, encouraging others. This is something I tremble at.
I believe the Holy Spirit was stirring you profoundly when you wrote this poem.
